The Department of Architecture and Design (ArD) at the American University of Beirut is home for four major programs in Architecture, Graphic Design, Urban Design and Urban Planning and Policy. At ArD, design teaching is approached as a cultural practice that engages social, economic and political issues, and as a critical tool of inquiry that integrates process with product, and methodology with representation, in a multidisciplinary manner.
